Ethos in Visual Argument

Directions

During the remaining class time today, pair up with another member of our class and design a one page advertisement for a product or service. You may use any medium you wish, including using photos from the internet (although not a ready-made ad!), powerpoint, PhotoShop, etc.

There is, however, a catch: your visual argument must rely upon an ethical appeal, and you should choose as a spokesperson someone who would seem highly unlikely to endorse your product or service. For example, you could design an advertisement with Elizabeth Taylor endorsing a marriage-counseling program. The challenge is to turn an apparent disadvantage into an advantage by appealing to character.
