Peer Review Activity: Visual Argument

Directions

Class Rough Drafts
In Class
Outside Class

Unlike our past peer review activities, this opportunity for feedback is not anonymous, is not a group activity, and does involve your considering the work of potentially every member of our class. I will project/show every visual to the class to evaluate, one by one. To evaluate, you must:

Write your name on the top of a piece of paper and then write a paragraph on the visual project you are reviewing (make sure to give the number of the project being displayed). Make a new page for each paragraph, as each group will receive the pages written on them. Do not do one for your own project. We can't spend more than 5 minutes on each project, so don't dilly-dally.

In this paragraph, you should explain:

  • What you perceive to be the claim presented in the piece. How can you tell? [? out of 7 points]
  • How you perceive the writer has supported that claim with design elements. That is, you must explain how s/he has supported her claim through typography, color, placement, graphics, etc. [? out of 7 points]
  • Which audience you think this piece would appeal to. How can you tell? [? out of 2 points]

After you are finished, e-mail me the reviews (Wait until the end and do them all at once, to save time). I will read them, give you credit for doing them, then e-mail those reviews to their respective teams.
