Today I met with my group and worked on the final draft of our paper.  I worked with Kelly on making the suggested revisions from our peer review notes and finalizing the final draft of our paper.  I will spend the next 2 days preparing for my part of the powerpoint presentation that we are scheduled to give on Wednesday.

My group and I met today to write the rough draft of our recommendation project.  I wrote the section on the costs of making and advertising commercials so AOL can raise awareness to the public about the issue of cyber bullying.  Everyone in the group wrote their own section then we brought them all together and filled in the gaps between each section.  I plan on meeting with my group next Monday to make corrections to our paper and finalize it.  Next Monday we will also make our power point presentation and practice our presentation.

Our group met today to finish writing the first draft of our recommendation paper.  We divided up the remaining parts of the paper for each person to write before compiling it all together.  Ben wrote the conclusion and did more research on the cost of school programs.  Lauren wrote about the cost of making and advertising commercials and the advantages and disadvantages.  Kelly wrote the background and formatted the paper and added all of our paragraphs to the paper.  Dan wrote the executive summary and did more research on the costs of commercials.  We finished the first draft of our paper this afternoon and are ready to turn it in for review on Wednesday.  We plan on meeting next Monday to make the suggested corrections and finalize our paper for our presentations. 

This week for our recommendation project I continued gathering research about implementing a program during school hours for middle school and high school level students to attend and learn about cyber bullying and the dramatic effects it can have on a child's life.  I plan on writing about this section of the paper this weekend and coming to our group's meeting on Monday with my section written. 

My group and I met online last night to discuss our recommendation project.  We decided we are all going to research our specific areas and meet early next week to start our paper.  This weekend I will be researching how much it would cost to start a cyber bullying awareness program in schools and if it will be feasible to have these in schools.  I will also be researching, along with Kelly, the advantages and disadvantages if these programs, in further detail.  Finally, I will be researching some possible problems with our solution and what AIM could do to prevent them from happening.

My group met twice this week to work on our project.  We met on Monday afternoon and made all the suggested corrections from our peer review and made our powerpoint presentation.  Kelly and I worked on the paper, with input from Dan and Ben and Dane and Ben worked on the powerpoint with input from Kelly and I.  We also met Thursday night to work on the handout and practice our presentation. We have no future plans other than presenting our project Friday morning in class.

My group met this week on Monday and Tuesday to write the rough draft of our white paper on cyberbullying.  We all met in a computer lab on Monday and wrote approximately half of our paper.  We decided on a format and began writing.  Tuesday we met in a computer lab again and finished the paper.  We all wrote different sections and we each put input into all aspects of the paper.  We are meeting again this coming Monday to work on the revisions that were suggested to us and complete our final draft.  We will also discuss the plans for our presentation and decide who will be presenting each section.

Our group met today during and after class to discuss our project.  We decided to change the direction of our project slightly.  We chose to do our project on cyberbullying using AOL Instant Messanger (AIM) instead of Facebook, because you can only chat with your friends on Facebook, and you can chat with anyone on AIM.  Our goal for this meeting was to delegate what each person needed to research and decide on a time and place to meet to start the rough draft of our paper.  We decided that our group would meet on Monday, October 20^th to write the draft of our paper.  In the meantime, we are each going to research a specific area of the problem and come on Monday ready to contribute our portion to the paper.  Ben will research specific cases of cyberbullying using AIM, Dan will research any current lawsuits, Kelly will look up what the privacy settings are for AIM and their chat rooms, and Lauren will research how AIM deals with complaints and issues.  Our whole group will think of possible solutions to stop cyberbullying.

Our whole group met at 9:30 in the classroom, Kelly M., Daniel B., Ben B., and Lauren D.  We chose the topic chat room security and safety of primarily teenagers; focusing mainly on people posing as someone they are not in a chat room, and the consequences of their actions.  The goal of this meeting was to begin gathering research for our project and to get ideas for our proposal.  We delegated the task of writing the blogs to Lauren.  We decided to meet Wednesday night to write our memo.  In the mean time, we are going to gather information on our own and come prepared Wednesday night.

For my white paper project I would like to investigate businesses using Facebook to find out more information about potential and current employees.  I can see both sides of this argument and would like to find out more information about it.  It is a good way to find out about daily activities and the social life of the employee, which can in a lot of cases affect a person’s work.  However, a person’s life is their own personal business and as long as a person shows up and does their work, they should be able to have any kind of social life that they want and their employer should not be able to access that information if the employee wants to keep it private.
