I have created the presentation powerpoint for my group and revised some of the slides after the meeting with my group members. We had meetings on monday and tuesday. Yesterday we have went over our parts as a rehearsal and gave some correction to each others slides and work. After the meeting, I have prepared for the presentaion.

After submitting the rough draft, our group decided to meet on sunday to work on our paper. I will also do more research on the tutorial topic before sunday and creat a power point slides for our presentation.

week 7 update

The last class before the thanksgiving break, we got together as a group and wrote the outline for our paper. We have put our informations together to make sure that we are not leaving out any important facts while writing the paper. We discussed that if there are any more information that we need during writing the paper, our group member should email each other for the input.

I have been researching for the benefits of tutorial and the hiring cost of an specialist to creat a tutorial. I am continuing my research to collect more useful information, since I haven't found alot of info. I will also conduct the survey for our team.

week 5 update

This past week we have started project 3 and last week, we have decided on what topic we are going to focus on for the project 3. Yesterday we met up as a group for about 2 hours at stewart library and worked on our memo and the gantt chart.

We have devided up the task to the individuals(or group) and set the due date for it. I will get start with researching for the tutorial benefits and the job data. Hopefullly we will collect enough information to write the good paper.

Last friday our team didn't get to present because of the time shortage, we were ready.

We group gave our Facebook presentation yesterday, I thought we did good overall. Lastweek we have met up as a group and went over all the powerpoint slides as a group, making sure that everyone was clear on what they are suppose to focus on during the presentation. We also worked on our finalizing our whitepaper as a group, reorganized the order and made some adjustments on the powerpoint slides as we went over them. I made my notecards and studied the my resources before the presentation.

Last week, I have researched and organized more on children's relationship with Facebook and also typed everything up for my group's white paper. All the information has been organized with a bullet points and used to write our group's white paper. This week I will go over the my portion of the work and correct the errors on our group's white paper.

This week, I've been researching on minors using facebook and children predators on facebook as well. I have found few resources that I might be able to use, but some of them don't look very relialble. also I am looking for the relationship between the older users and younger users on facebook. I have also conducted a survey that will be used as our groups data. I am still researching for more informations from more reliable sources.

For the facebook group, I have researched the data about the privacy issues that deals with facebook. The first article I found talks about the general privacy problems with profile settings with facebook, and how we are not aware of our profile being open to indexing by search engines. The second news is about the facebook account holder's private photos being made public by manipulating a web address to appear as a friend of that person.

I would like to talk about the problems on social networking sites. The problems with facebook have been increased due to the massive number of users. The majority of college students have facebook and also it has spread into a giant social networking system. Although there are lots of advantages towards networking for the users but there are also negative aspects. One of the negative aspects would be about the privacy issue. Even though facebook has privacy settings available, many users are not aware of the privacy settings or simply do not know about the potential harm they could be facing. Their privacy is exposed to the general public that has a facebook account. Many job recruiters check on their prospects facebook as a source of their back ground. This matter can lead to a serious harm. Although facebook is a great networking system, user’s privacy need to be protected.
