I had to go through the scans of the surveys and pull out some info for a table, which I then put into the report. I also helped compile a document containing all of the image scans of the surveys and the observation sheets. Other than this task, I have the general task of revising the final draft of the report before it is turned in.
http://www.digitalparlor.org/sp09/kerns1/node/1022#comments Wed, 06 May 2009 02:39:01 +0000 aanspaug 1022 at http://www.digitalparlor.org/sp09/kerns1 MS Publisher Newsletter Documentation - Week 4 http://www.digitalparlor.org/sp09/kerns1/node/995
For this week, my main research was my part in the usability testing that occurred Monday evening. I was responsible for watching the test of Katie R. and Jay W. I made notes and conducted exit interviews at the end, which was added to the collective findings of the group later on.

http://www.digitalparlor.org/sp09/kerns1/node/995#comments Fri, 01 May 2009 23:27:46 +0000 aanspaug 995 at http://www.digitalparlor.org/sp09/kerns1 MS Publisher Newsletter Documentation - Week 3 http://www.digitalparlor.org/sp09/kerns1/node/910
For this week, there was not much research that I individually had to do. I did have to look up the course material on what to put in the user testing questionnaire, since I put that together, but most of the stuff was based on work we had already done.

http://www.digitalparlor.org/sp09/kerns1/node/910#comments Sat, 25 Apr 2009 18:54:13 +0000 aanspaug 910 at http://www.digitalparlor.org/sp09/kerns1 MS Publisher Newsletter Documentation - Week 2 http://www.digitalparlor.org/sp09/kerns1/node/854
For this week, my main area of research was in the compilation of the slides for the powerpoint presentation on Wednesday. I had to go through the entire process and write down every step, as well as take many screenshots. These were given to Alex, who meshed everything, and then Stew improved the design, while Sam tested the effectiveness of it. I also have had to retake many screenshots and provide them to the group to improve our documentation.

http://www.digitalparlor.org/sp09/kerns1/node/854#comments Sat, 18 Apr 2009 01:46:03 +0000 aanspaug 854 at http://www.digitalparlor.org/sp09/kerns1 MS Publisher Newsletter Group - Week 1 http://www.digitalparlor.org/sp09/kerns1/node/798
For our project, we decided to focus on a group of which I am a member. We will be making a tutorial for the College Republicans regarding the construction of a monthly or quarterly newsletter. This means that I will be responsible for the description of the problem and the actual testing of the tutorial with people from my club.

http://www.digitalparlor.org/sp09/kerns1/node/798#comments Wed, 08 Apr 2009 22:57:34 +0000 aanspaug 798 at http://www.digitalparlor.org/sp09/kerns1 Wiki Blog - Week 4 http://www.digitalparlor.org/sp09/kerns1/node/722
For this week, I had already done my research in terms of the content of the paper. At this point, the main thing that I will be focusing on is editing the paper. For sources, I have used many of the articles provided in class, including the white paper guides.

For my personal responsibilities, I am in charge of editing, and after the document is complete, I have to work with Stewart to put the powerpoint together. I also have been coordinating the tasks involving the completion of the handouts and the presentation.
http://www.digitalparlor.org/sp09/kerns1/node/722#comments Sat, 28 Mar 2009 05:33:29 +0000 aanspaug 722 at http://www.digitalparlor.org/sp09/kerns1 Wiki Blog - Week 3 http://www.digitalparlor.org/sp09/kerns1/node/608
At this point, my group has been trying to clarify our points for our descriptions of solutions. The problem has always been evident, but now we are devloping the ideas of sub-problems that could be caused by the solutions. A major idea that I contributed was the specification of our solutions. Originally, they were "low", "medium", and "high". We have clarified this into a internet-wide-level, a network-wide-level, and an expert-level of security. The details focus on how many and what types of users can access pages, as well as who is able to add and edit pag
read more
http://www.digitalparlor.org/sp09/kerns1/node/608#comments Mon, 09 Mar 2009 21:08:27 +0000 aanspaug 608 at http://www.digitalparlor.org/sp09/kerns1 Wiki Blog - Week 2 http://www.digitalparlor.org/sp09/kerns1/node/563
Along with the research in the previous blog entry, I have looked through the sources of another member of our group, Stuart, and found something that would help my aspect of the project. In this article, labed "Wikis for Reference, Enthusiasts, and Government Information," there is a breakdown of the different levels of Wikis and their uses. This is actually a very good guide for the way our project is laid out in general, but I will focus on my portion.
