Fourth Individual Blog - Craig Zehrung

This weekend we met and put together our presentation for Monday.

Each person had their slides prepared along with the accompanying information for Monday.

The compilation went rather smoothly and led to an overall good presentation.

Third Individual Blog - Craig Zehrung

For this week we had plenty of time to meet in class and therefore did not have to schedule any further meetings. Each member is expected to continue the research on their own respective subjects along with writing individual rough drafts to be assembled into one large rough draft. The meeting scheduled for after break is to assemble these rough drafts and complete our final rough draft due in class.

Second Individual Blog - Craig Zehrung

This week during the open class period our group met to begin individual research and to start gaining ground on our portions for the rough draft.

My portion is to look at gaming situations from past and present and determine ways of adapting them to the more modern console.

I gained atleast two pages of ideas and situations that can be brought into the new form of gaming. I've tried to incorporate all of the different ideas from past games both console based and computer based along with different controller types.

Individual Blog - 2/27/9 - Craig Zehrung

This week was a fairly easy week without much excitement.

We met once outside of class to finish our second memo in the basement of HICKS.

We each know our areas of research and what is expected of us, and have decided to meet during class time Monday to gain a headstart on the project.

My portion of research is to find possible gaming scenarios by looking at current games and finding ways to adapt them.

And now, the weekend....

Topic Proposal: On-line gaming

One of the main concerns with on-line gaming is it is detracting from our society as a whole. Role playing games are a way for some people to escape their real worlds and spend endless hours in a fantasy land; that doesn't accomplish anything but add a small amount of self worth.

By playing on-line games that take hours, days, or even months on end to finish the latest "mission", you are wasting vast amounts of time that could be put to use trying to solve one of the many problems plaguing society.

Work Experience - Lead Failure Analysis Technician

I spent a summer working as Remy International's Lead Failure Analysis Technician in their hybrid transmission division. It was my job to coordinate incoming and outgoing parts as well as instructing my employees on which tasks were the most important at the time. This taught me great project management skills as well as employee relations. It also allowed me to apply my past skills in technical analysis and mechanical design.
