Individual Blog - DesignWorkshop Lite Tutorial

Group had an email conversation to send our indivdual parts of the report to each other for editing and final assembly for the project. I wrote the section about discussion of test results.

Individual Blog - Documentation Project

I acted as record keeper for the user testing we conducted. We had 8 people arrive for the user testing and they began the tutorial as Doug installed the program and the video tutorial on their computers. As each person began I recorded their starting time and walked around noting any issues i saw. Most notably were issuse with the program itself and not our tutorial, but as such showed us that our tutorial could do better to help the user with these basic issues.

Individual Blog 2 - User Documentation

I worked on the rough draft of the user documentation. Our storyboard was fairly complete and the images for the user documentation were all done so I used those for the documentation and added the captions and user instrutions to that. I emailed the rough draft to the other group members for review and edits.

Individual Blog 1 - Documentation Project

This week I have met with the group several times to work on the documentation project. Specifically, I have edited the proposal memo and emailed the final memo and gantt chart. Also, I outlined the materail needed for the storyboard and began working on the storyboard in powerpoint with the group.

Individual Blog - Piracy Group

Individual Blog - Piracy Group

I have been reviewing and formatting the parts I have received from my teammates into the rough draft of the paper. I am also writing the introduction, conclusion, and executive summary based on the research I have done and the material I have received. After completing this I will email the rough draft out for review.

Individual Blog #2

I have been independently doing research on the RIAA trying to find some facts and figures to justify the need for the RIAA's new tactic on their part and any just cause on the part of ISPs to participate. Also, I wanted to find some statistics on the impact of the possible choices that the ISPs could make, but since this has not happened yet and is still in the discussion phase with the RIAA and ISPs there is nothing to find.

Individual Post (1) - White Paper Project

I am in the piracy group, focusing on the ramifications and responses by internet service providers to the actions being taken by the RIAA in regards to music piracy.

So far, the group has collaborated about the proposal memo. I wrote the first draft of the memo and the rest of the group edited it and made some changes. I then integrated all the changes and composed the final draft of the memo.

Topic Proposal: Cost of Video Downloads

Entire movies and television shows can be downloaded through several means both legal and illegal. Legally, sites such as Netflix and Hulu allow internet users to purchas digital copies of movies and TV shows respectively. Illegally, there are several torrent sites that make downloading media copies to personal computers possible. Regardless of the source of these videos, this exchange of data is occurring and at ever greater rates. The concern is that this massive amount of data being uploaded and downloaded is slowing the internet collectively and users speeds individually.

Experience Section

CAD Technician

As a CAD Technician I worked with several versions of Autodesk, a 2D and 3D design computer design platform, to draw in the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing system layouts for large government buildings. In this process I collaborated with several other design teams that created the foundation and other systems for the buildings, which had to be fully integrated to ensure that the physical dimensions of the systems would be suitable for the building when constructed.
