After my group meeting on Thursday during which I helped revise our documentation and write the appendix, I volunteered to finalize everything and turn in it.  Today I added the title page to our documentation as well as combined my user study observations with the others from my group.  I emailed these documents out to the other members for them to look over and will turn everything in once I get the OK from them.

Yesterday I edited the documentation for the user study, which was held last night at 7.  I made a few formatting changes based on the feedback we received from the peer review and added a few "helpful hints".  Today I brainstormed some ideas that will make the tutorial more useful to the general user population and thought of some ways to adapt our documentation based on the feedback from our user study.

I completed my section of the rough draft, "Finding an article using ejournals", by adapting the material I used from the storyboard presentation.  I modified the directions in some of the steps to be generally applicable instead of specific to the example we are using.

I did some research for our project by navigating the site and looking for certain eJournals, articles, and databases.  I tried to target areas where users may run into problems.

Over the weekend, I wrote the executive summary and conclusion of our white paper and started formatting the paper after each member sent me their section.  I added headlines and identified issues we needed to discuss in class today.

After our group meeting today, I revised the executive summary and conclusion, wrote an additional section under the extent of the problem, added a graphic, and edited the paper.

I looked at some sample white papers to get a better idea of how to present our information.  I experimented with several different colors, font styles and sizes, and alignments to see what looks best.  I also designed a title page.

I continued my research of our topic and identified the PRO IP Act of 2008 as an important issue related to the extent of the problem.  I also found several websites selling image copyright software that we should look into as potential solutions.  Finally, I created a rough template for our white paper with bullets under some of the section headings to identify some of the topics we may want to address.

After class today, I researched for articles related to our topic through Purdue Library's online databases and Google Scholar.  I started getting many more "hits" when I started using the keywords "digital rights management".  I have saved several articles that I believe will be useful in drafting our white paper, although some articles are contradictory, suggesting that digital rights management is becoming decreasingly important.
