Individual Blog - Webmail Documentation

This week, our group compiled data from the user testing we conducted and created our usability report. In the form of a memorandum directed to Purdue University, we described problems users experienced during the testing and documented changes we deemed necessary based on the outcome of the testing. Overall, the usability testing was a success; each subject was able to complete the tasks asked of them with minimal problems or complications. In the next few days, we will revise the usability report before we turn the entire project in to the professor.

This week our group completed user testing with the draft of our documentation. Tests were conducted in a computer lab on campus, as this is a popular location where students use Webmail. In the next few days, our group will compile data from usability testing, including both demographics and notes with which to improve our documentation. We will use the data regarding demographics to accompany the summary of the results from our user testing.

This week our group decided on when and where our usability testing will take place, and composed a draft of our documentation. During our group meeting outside of class, I created a two-part survey for users to complete before and after testing the documentation. These surveys will serve as media for demographic data. I also wrote up instructions as a supplement to the documentation that we will provide during user testing. Since each group needs to test 6-9 users, each of the four members in our group will recruit 2 users to test.

Webmail Documentation - Individual Blog

This week in class and in one out-of-class meeting, our group decided on the topic for our documentation and created the storyboard to be presented in class on Wednesday. The group met and decided which screen shots would be included within the PowerPoint presentation. Each member also started thinking about how to recruit 3-4 people each for the user testing, once a draft of the documentation is completed.

Wikipedia Group - Individual Blog

This week I drafted my portion of the body of the group's white paper. Based on my research about the extent of the problem of the unreliability of Wikipedia, I put together a few paragraphs that we put together with other people's sections today. When we met as a group, we formed the draft of the white paper and included graphics. Over the next week, I will revise the group's draft on my own and list my references in APA format.

This week I continued research about the extent of the problem of the unreliability of Wikipedia. I have begun drafting the section that will document this information within the body of our group's white paper. We met as a group during class this week and set a date for when we will meet again to begin composing the draft of the white paper.

Individual Blog - Wikipedia Group

This week I researched sources regarding the extent of the unreliability of Wikipedia. Within the next few days, I will finish up the majority of my research and write about my findings in the "Extent of the Problem" portion of our group's white paper. When our group meets next to compose the paper, other group members will edit / peer review what I have come up with so far.

Topic Proposal: Violation of Facebook Users' Privacy

There are undoubtedly thousands of users registered with an account on the increasingly popular social networking website, Facebook. Users of all ages can create individual profiles, post text notes, pictures, videos, and other media, as well as leave public and private messages for other users. Registered Facebook users are currently facing privacy issues, as they are finding out that potential employers, professors, and other professional figures can and sometimes do look at individual profiles.
