Censorship Group Individual Blog 2

I've been conducting further research into the response of cultures to gradual and sudden reintroduction of freedom of the press. Recently I've been looking into the liberalization of India in the 1990s. Starting from the wikipedia page (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freedom_of_press_in_India) I found an article that mentions some government responses to the Indian press (http://www.pucl.org/from-archives/Media/freedom-press.htm). Obviously that source is strongly biased against the government, but it may prove useful. I've also found some pages about specific instance where media companies in India began to assert their rights against the government. By large I think it can be argued these challenges have been beneficial to India. I've also started looking for similar examples from the USSR show the positive effects of glasnost even if eventually it led to the collapse of the USSR. Liz Roller has taken over the psychological aspect of this research, and I've been focusing more on the historical approach.
