MS Publisher Newsletter Documentation - Week 5

Not a lot of additional research was done after the usability study.  I had to go through the scans of the surveys and pull out some info for a table, which I then put into the report.  I also helped compile a document containing all of the image scans of the surveys and the observation sheets.  Other than this task, I have the general task of revising the final draft of the report before it is turned in.

MS Publisher Newsletter Documentation - Week 4

For this week, my main research was my part in the usability testing that occurred Monday evening.  I was responsible for watching the test of Katie R. and Jay W.   I made notes and conducted exit interviews at the end, which was added to the collective findings of the group later on.

MS Publisher Newsletter Documentation - Week 3

For this week, there was not much research that I individually had to do.  I did have to look up the course material on what to put in the user testing questionnaire, since I put that together, but most of the stuff was based on work we had already done.

MS Publisher Newsletter Documentation - Week 2

For this week, my main area of research was in the compilation of the slides for the powerpoint presentation on Wednesday.  I had to go through the entire process and write down every step, as well as take many screenshots.  These were given to Alex, who meshed everything, and then Stew improved the design, while Sam tested the effectiveness of it.  I also have had to retake many screenshots and provide them to the group to improve our documentation.

MS Publisher Newsletter Group - Week 1

For our project, we decided to focus on a group of which I am a member.  We will be making a tutorial for the College Republicans regarding the construction of a monthly or quarterly newsletter.  This means that I will be responsible for the description of the problem and the actual testing of the tutorial with people from my club.

Wiki Blog - Week 4

For this week, I had already done my research in terms of the content of the paper.  At this point, the main thing that I will be focusing on is editing the paper.  For sources, I have used many of the articles provided in class, including the white paper guides.

For my personal responsibilities, I am in charge of editing, and after the document is complete, I have to work with Stewart to put the powerpoint together.  I also have been coordinating the tasks involving the completion of the handouts and the presentation.

Wiki Blog - Week 3

At this point, my group has been trying to clarify our points for our descriptions of solutions.  The problem has always been evident, but now we are devloping the ideas of sub-problems that could be caused by the solutions.  A major idea that I contributed was the specification of our solutions.  Originally, they were "low", "medium", and "high".  We have clarified this into a internet-wide-level, a network-wide-level, and an expert-level of security.  The details focus on how many and what types of users can access pages, as well as who is able to add and edit pag

Wiki Blog - Week 2

Along with the research in the previous blog entry, I have looked through the sources of another member of our group, Stuart, and found something that would help my aspect of the project.  In this article, labed "Wikis for Reference, Enthusiasts, and Government Information," there is a breakdown of the different levels of Wikis and their uses.  This is actually a very good guide for the way our project is laid out in general, but I will focus on my portion.  The article states:

Weekly Work Blog

So far, we have accomplished almost all of the preliminary work on our project.  I was assigned the task of the high-end security versions of wikis.  First I will describe my research so far.
