Censorship Group: Meeting One

We met on Friday the 20th of February during class time.  The members present were John, Brett, and Liz.  The goal of this meeting was to specify our project proposal and look at possible solutions to the problems as well as work on the overall memo.  The main issue we are focusing on is the internet censorship supported by the Chinese government which restricts access to revolutionary and movement-related issues as well as historic events that could spark revolution or dissension.  We considered two possible solutions: immediate over-arching access to all information, and a step-wise solution where information will become available in chunks over a period of time.  We also stated general ideas of what sources we were going to use to research our topics and possible solutions as well as the problems being faced.  Liz was delegated to do Group blogs for each meeting.  Goals made were to finish the project proposal memo over the weekend.
