• Answer questions about Writing a Tutorial
• Discuss assessment of instructions
• Do instruction evaluation activity
  Directions: I will divide you into four groups and give each group a tie. Your group will test some online instructions by attempting to follow them.
  • Click on How to Tie a Tie in 5 Minutes
  • Follow the instructions for the Half-Windsor knot.
    
  • Pick one person to be the tester (if you wish to have more than one person test the instructions, feel free). Choose the one who has the least experience with ties.
  • Take note of where problems occur; those who are not acting as the tester need to be writing issues down.
    
  • Open a word processing program like Word and write an evaluation of the instructions. This evaluation should include:
    • Where the problems occurred
      
    • What you think caused them
    • What you would do to improve the instructions
      
  • E-mail me a copy of the document.
