• Turn in final draft of Job Ad Analysis for Project 1: Employment Project
• Discuss the Rhetoric of the Job Application Letter and Types of Employment Documents
• Discuss Kairos and the Cover Letter
• Exercise: Based on your readings and our discussions from last week about tailoring the cover letter, make an outline of your cover letter and post it to your blog (this can be very rough; the idea is to get you thinking). Feel free to use resources you find or have found elsewhere, such as on internet job sites, to help you with this in addition to the text and OWL resources. Be specific in your outline - for instance, do not just put "Discuss skills," put which skills you wil discuss and any relevant examples. If you have a draft of your cover letter already, don't copy and paste it; do the outline to show me what structure you have chosen.  This is due by classtime Wednesday if you don't finish it in class.

• Cover Letter Draft is due by classtime Friday, Sept. 12 (e-mail me a copy by classtime, but also bring a draft). Anyone who does not have their draft on Friday will not get peer-reviewed and will lose points off their grade.

• Peer review of cover letters today!
  Directions: Get in groups of four. Download the attached Cover Letter Peer Review Questions, then fill them out in a thorough and helpful manner with regard to the cover letter you are handed. I WILL evaluate the review sheets and lower daily grades for those sheets that are not filled out in a thoughful manner.  Once you've finshed, have one person send a copy of the file to me, and print out a copy for the person whose cover letter you've evaluated. Don't put your names on the hard copy, but put them in the body of the e-mail to me which has the cover letter peer review attached.  Your group should be able to complete two peer reviews by the end of classtime.
