Individual Blog 1: MySpace Recommendation Project

Yesterday I finished creating and formatting the Gantt Chart. I used Microsoft Project which allowed me to input data easily. However I had difficulties creating a legend for the Gantt Chart. I also had a few difficulties finding a color printer, but I was eventually able to print it in the RAWLS lab.

RPG Group Project 3 Week 1 Entry

This week we worked on getting the memo and Gantt chart ready for submission on Monday.  I attended the meetings and spearheaded the design of the Gantt chart.  I also did this week’s write-ups, and I am sorry they were late, but when I went to do them Friday Night at home, I found out we had no internet connection all weekend.  I spent approximately 1 hour on the Gantt chart and another hour editing the Memo.  I also helped come up with the restrictions the players would have for their characters.

The goal of the meeting was to finish up our memo for the recommendation paper and also finish our Gantt chart.

We worked through the Gantt chart with what we learned in class that day and finished it up after class.  We also finished tweaking the memo as well.  Jim had to leave early because he was taking someone home for the weekend.

For our next meeting we plan to meet November 10, 2008 at the Beering Classroom at 4:30pm to discuss our findings and plan the next week’s meetings accordingly.

The goal of the meeting was to work out a memo for the recommendation paper and also work on a Gantt chart.

Andrew came prepared with a rough outline of what the memo should look like, and Aswin and Jim edited and added to it.  We also worked on the Gantt chart and got a good start on it.

For our next meeting we plan to meet November 7, 2008 at the Beering Classroom at 4:30pm to do finishing touches on our memo and Gantt chart that are due the following Monday.

RPG Group Project 3 Meeting 1

November 5, 2008 4:50 – 5:10pm

Classroom Lab

Jim Vogel, Andrew Greeson, Aswin Selvaraj

The goal of the meeting was to come to a consensus of which one of the three solutions we would be using for our recommendation report.

We deliberated and came to an agreement to use the second solution which included a time limit by which the users would be held to only play a certain amount each day before their character would be penalized by reduction of traits.

For our next meeting we plan to meet November 7, 2008 at Hicks Library at 12:30pm to begin our memo and Gantt Chart due the following Monday.

week 5 update

This past week we have started project 3 and last week, we have decided on what topic we are going to focus on for the project 3. Yesterday we met up as a group for about 2 hours at stewart library and worked on our memo and the gantt chart.

We have devided up the task to the individuals(or group) and set the due date for it. I will get start with researching for the tutorial benefits and the job data. Hopefullly we will collect enough information to write the good paper.

Blog #5 Recommendation Report

Last week I discussed ideas with the team and brainstormed various ways to expand and further our research for the new Recommendation Project. Planned to meet and finalize ideas this week.

Personal Blog Entry #1, Recommendation Report

This past week, we met in class to decide which of our 3 alternatives we would choose for our recommendation report, we chose the one involving outsourcing to a company that developed a very effective and complete fraud detection software. The company, which is actually the merger of two very effective firms: iovation and IDinsight, will release its new software very soon, and we believe eBay would be better off buying it that trying to create and implement a software by themselves. I met with my group Friday after class and we all wrote together our plan of action memo. Then, Agnes and I worked Sunday in the creation of the Gantt chart. Personally, I assigned each of the individual tasks to each one of us and did the color distribution on the chart. Finally, I sent it to Agnes and she printed it. We turned it in Monday morning in class. This week, we are expected to each start researching of the topics that were assigned to each one of us in by the Gantt chart.
