E-Commerce Fraud Group, Week 1, Recommendation Report

This last week, we got together in class wednesday and decided which of our three alternatives we would choose for our recommendation report. We all agreed that the solution that related to outsourcing the implementation of the anti-fraud software was the most effective one. This is true because of the alternative's low cost; not only economic, but also relating to the cost of implementing and training of the eBay's personnel. Moreover, the company that we chose (it is more like a merger of two companies that is expected to occur soon) is the most experienced and effective in anti-fraud and fraud detection software. Ebay would practically be leaving their fraud problems in the hands of the most reliable and experienced companies available.

After class Friday, we had some time to get together and decide which one of us would do what part of the project. We wrote our plan of action memo and then, Sunday at noon, we met and developed our Gantt chart. Here, we specified who would take care of which part of the project, as well as the time we would invest in each specific section. I think it ended up being very organized and it will be very effetive in helping us organize our project.

Facebook Group

Tonight we met for an hour and a half in the Stewart library.  We worked on finishing the Proposal Memo due tomorrow, as well as outlining every task so it can be put into a Gantt chart for tomorrow.

Individual Blog - project 3

On monday we did our presentation. Friday after class our group worked and completed our memo proposal that is due monday. We all worked on the memo and the gantt chart togther as a group. We will probably get together sometime this week to continue our research.

E-commerce Group 2: Recommendation Report Week 1 Individual Update

On Wednesday we decided that the solution we would argue would be the outsourcing of fraud management to the companies iovation and ID Insight, who are coming together to create the state-of-the-art anti-fraud software.

Sicne this product is still in process, I had to do some research before Friday to make sure there is adequate information available thus far to compose a recommendation report. There is a decent amount of information about which specialties of each company would be incorporated in the final software, so we have a good idea of what the final product will be capable of.

On Friday we typed our memo in class so what we have left to do is the Gantt chart. Due to us all being out of town this weekend, we are rotating who gets the Gantt chart to edit it. I am creating it and adding the content and then I will pass it on to my group members to edit according to their schedules.

MySpace Individual Work: Week One

This week we decided as a group that we were going to propose to MySpace to make a parntership with Perverted Justice to help to reduce the amount of sexual predators on MySpace.com.  As a group we created a memo and also went through all of the tasks that needed to be assigned throughout the project.  I indiviually edited  the memo and also formatted it into the correct format.

Project 3, Week 1: Individual work

Project 3 started! Our group met in the class and we decided one of the solution which is copy sense. We planned next meeting as a this sunday at 7 o'clock to finish POA memo. We have to learn about making Gantt Chart. In memo, we have to put problems, solutions and Gantt Chart. I never made Gantt Chart before but it seems fun and I'm sure that it will help us to track our schedules.

From now on we are planning to research more about copysense specifically.

Week 1: Project Progress

Our group has chosen to discuss the CopySense service.  We decided that because Inder researched the topic in our White Paper, he is going to be in charge of dividing up who is going to be researching what.  We have agreed to meet on Sunday night at 7:00, to take the first steps in research as well as finishing the Memo due Monday.

MySpace Individual Work - Week 1

This week, as a group we decided to focus on MySpace forming a partnership with online anti-predator group, Perverted-Justice.  Since I covered this solution in our White Paper project I was very familiar with it and began writing out our Memo due Monday.  I also met with my teammates in class to distribute tasks and responsibilities for the next few weeks and format them into a Gantt Chart.

MySpace Group Work - Week 1

Before beginning to work on Project 3, our group sat down in class to discuss which one of our White Paper solutions we were going to focus on for our Recommendation Report.  After deliberation we decided to do our project on a MySpace partnership with online anti-predator group Perverted-Justice.  We decided this option would be the easiest to research and the most plausible for MySpace to actually use.  We also utilized class time to write the Memo and assign tasks for the Gantt Chart due Monday.

Facebook security measures and tutorial

I spent some time looking for some more information on Facebook privacy issues and tutorials also. I did find some info on how academics redearched and found how personal habits, tastes, and values affect the formation of social relationships. Scholars are using data from one University to monitor the facebook profiles of an entire class of students and using this information.

I also looked up info on passwords, filters, and security measures to use for facebook. I found one article on Hacking Myspace passwords and another on MySpace passwords aren't so dumb. But, I wasn't able to find much on using a different alternative for security measures besides the tutorial for privacy protection.
