Fri, 03/20/2009 - 11:48 — jnielsen
I completed my research on gaming piracy. I chose CD keys, Microsoft XBOX, and SecuROM. I wrote about these soultions and how they prevent video game piracy. I then discussed the problems that each solution has. I also took what group work was done and complied it all into something that looks like a white paper format.

13 Mar Individual Contribution to Piracy Group
Sat, 03/14/2009 - 00:46 — d.schmidt
This week I am finishing my research of the legality issues of media piracy. So far, the most prominent subjects within this research have been the discussion of what exactly constitutes piracy of copyrighted material through the Internet, the legitimacy of the RIAA's oft-used theory "Making Available," and the legal requirement or non-requirement of ISPs to comply with RIAA requests to notify users of suspected piracy. The detailed information from research of these subjects will inform an ISP of what action is required by law if given a request by the RIAA, and will allow an I

3/13/09 Individual Blog (Alex Kreul, wiki group)
Fri, 03/13/2009 - 15:09 — Alex
I have now completed the majority of my writing (so far about 300 words), outlining the history of wikis and introducing the problems involved with wiki accuracy. I am planning on doing a little experiment and taking some good screenshots ... maybe intentionally altering a Wikipedia page to be wrong, and seeing how long it is left like that, and if I get banned from editing pages in the future. We'll see!

Censorship Group: Meeting 5
Thu, 03/12/2009 - 16:54 — eroller
Our group met on Thursday, March 12 at 5PM in the computer lab in Beering where we normally hold class. The members present were John, Brett, Hu, and Liz. We put together all of our summaries into a rough draft and began to elaborate upon each as well as focusing on the formatting of the sections within our white paper. The goal for the next meeting, scheduled to be the Monday after spring break ends, is to finish the details of our rough draft and add the completed citations page as well as complete and executive summary and a conclusion.

Wikipedia Group - Individual Blog
Thu, 03/12/2009 - 16:42 — ntangpra
This week I drafted my portion of the body of the group's white paper. Based on my research about the extent of the problem of the unreliability of Wikipedia, I put together a few paragraphs that we put together with other people's sections today. When we met as a group, we formed the draft of the white paper and included graphics. Over the next week, I will revise the group's draft on my own and list my references in APA format.

Censorship Individual: Blog 4
Thu, 03/12/2009 - 15:50 — eroller
I have picked up two print resources from the library on Russia and the transition from communism and have begun to elaborate more fully on my section of research. I have yet to choose a specific psyschological study to cite my work from and may just choose a general psychology text instead of specific studies since there are so many. Today I will work with my group members to put together a rough draft of the white paper due after spring break.
