Entire movies and television shows can be downloaded through several means both legal and illegal. Legally, sites such as Netflix and Hulu allow internet users to purchas digital copies of movies and TV shows respectively. Illegally, there are several torrent sites that make downloading media copies to personal computers possible. Regardless of the source of these videos, this exchange of data is occurring and at ever greater rates. The concern is that this massive amount of data being uploaded and downloaded is slowing the internet collectively and users speeds individually.

Topic Proposal: Illegal Sharing of Copyrighted Music

Within the last decade the amount of illegal sharing of copyrighted music has become a growing problem.  Artists and record labels complain that sharing music files strips the rightful distributors of compensation for their work.  Some consider file sharing "stealing" while others think nothing of it.

With current technology it is quite easy to make illegal copies of music.  There are many workarounds for protected content such as cracks, format loopholes, and false authorization.

For the past few semesters, I have been a Visual Artist for the Purdue Review, a monthly paper on campus. My duties and responsibilities include image processing, visual content production, layout, and article proofing. In addition, I have to work with a large and disparate staff of writers, editors, and other positions.

Job Description

I worked at Slingshot SEO as a server programmer.  I programmed server applications for use by private companies.  I also worked in database management and programming, by constructing CMS backends using PHP/ASP.  While I was there I was also contracted to perform security analysis for a number of clients.

Experience

At Agora INS I Created multiple web based applications using multiple technologies.. In addition I used Internet Information Server and ASP for server development. This lead to me becoming proficient in Used Visual Studio 6 for creating COM and COM+ objects, databases such as SQL Server 2000 and Oracle 8 and 9i. Also, I created Java applets to enhance web application functionality. While creating web applications I used cascading style sheets and JavaScript for client side development.
