White Paper Progress

Our group has met a couple of times, and have discussed what each members' responsibility is for the final paper.  I am going to be summing up the final solution as well as the conclusion.  Are group is meeting again tonight to finalize the paper and work on our powerpoint presentation.

MySpace: Group meeting

All three of the group members met at Hicks Library on October 28th. We went through the corrections that our peers made to our White Paper draft.  We changed some things in the White Paper and also decided what all still needed to be done on our presentation for Friday.  Chelsea plans to make the corrections on the White Paper draft and also create the slides for her portion of the presentation. Phillip is going to make the slides for his portion of the presentation and also is going to make sure the entire powerpoint is consistent throughout the presentation.  Diedra is going to make the slides for her portion of the presentation and also create the handout for the class.  All three of us plan to review all of these things on Thursday October 30th and also practice our presentation.

This week I have been working on getting the handout for our groups' presentation on Friday with a summary of what our presentation will be about and our White Paper.  I have also been working on getting the slides for the powerpoint presentation made for my portion of the presentation.

Individual Work on White Paper Project

Today I started putting toghether our Powerpoint presentation. Initially I just started putting together the title page, agenda, and background. I also managed to gather a few graphics that will help illustrate some of the concepts we will discuss in the presentation. As part of the background slide, I created a timeline using specific dates from our White Paper to better guide our audience.

Weekly Blog 3: Editing and Handout

I have been working on editing parts of the white paper, as well as working on my handout information.  I have been working to fix my citations as well as making sure that my information cannot be considered as plagerism.  I have also been trying to cut down my information to main points for the handout and powerpoint presentation.

This week, I revised my part of the project and made some changes suggested by the peer evaluation we had in class. I also updated the works cited part and did more research on background information and steps previously taken to address the problem. I met with my group Tuesday to finish our final copy of the white paper.

Weekly Research Blog

This week my main task was to finalize my section of the whitepaper. I realized that I had taken more of an informative approach to my writing, and I needed a more persuasive approach about the advantages and disadvantages of an in-house solution. Because of that, I took away some of my content about how the system could work to talk more about why the system should be done.

I also made my slides this week. I took the main points from my paper and turned them into 4 slides. I used 2 slides to explain what a good customer service system should do. I also spent 2 slides on the advantages and disadvantages.

Today I created the handout for the presentation by turning the executive summary into an outline format and incorperating one of our graphics. 

I also incorperated changes from group members that were given to me yesterday.
